Welcome to Coronado Elementary!
On behalf of the Coronado staff, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to Coronado Elementary School. We deeply value our community and are committed to ensuring it is welcoming to all. I am so proud of our staff for their unwavering commitment to our students and school. We all share a commitment to excellence, understanding that our children are our most important work.
Our vision at Coronado is to ensure your child has fun in a safe and welcoming environment while engaging in creative and authentic learning tasks. We also want our students to be empowered to face the world of tomorrow, to take risks, and to persevere through challenges. We strive to cultivate a culture of instructional excellence and provide students with extraordinary experiences.
To achieve this vision, we believe in the importance of structure in fostering a predictable and supportive learning environment where students can thrive. We also know that building strong relationships—among students, staff, and families—is fundamental to creating a connected and caring school community. Every decision we make is guided by the principle of doing what is best for our students, ensuring they receive the personalized attention and resources they need to succeed. It's this deep connection to community and a shared purpose that makes serving as your principal so fulfilling.
I thoroughly enjoy working in the school environment and learning side-by-side with our students and staff. Nothing brings me greater joy than teaching, collaborating, and listening. That's why it's hard to believe I've been in education for over 30 years—time sure flies when you're doing something you love!
I find immense joy in serving the community I live in, a place where I have such deep roots. I have close ties to the Chatfield area, as my three sons (who are now 27, 29 and 33) attended Coronado, Falcon Bluffs, and Chatfield High School. In addition, I've lived in the neighborhood and the same house for over 30 years. I feel incredibly lucky to have found such a supportive and connected community, where I've formed so many enduring friendships and partnerships.
It's a genuine honor to be in a position to serve this wonderful Coronado community, and I'm eager to see the positive impact we will make together!
